Plot by plot, pot by pot. In true bayanihan spirit, Carmenanons consistently come together to clean their surroundings and develop urban gardens in their own yards or in a communal plot, where they plant vegetables and ornamentals, keeping their immediate environment clean and green and making organic vegetables readily available in their homes.
The urban gardens in Barangay Carmen started during the pandemic and has continued up to now. “Nakita namo nga maayo ni nga activity as it does not just keep the surroundings clean, naa pa gyud ready food source ang mga residente nga libre na, nutritious pa gyud.” KapKik explained.
All zones in the barangay maintain urban gardens.
